IT’S A GREAT DAY IN AMERICA!
Dear Friends:
Following Tuesday’s election, I’m basking in the belief that most Americans still possess common sense and value personal liberty enshrined in the Constitution by our Founders.
The elite power brokers who control our federal government overplayed their hand with the certainty that they knew what was best for the rest of us. Those elites include corrupt politicians, the unelected, unseen, monied power brokers behind the curtain, and the ‘national-lame-brain-media-propaganda-machine.’
They pushed globalization, diminished America’s international leadership, broke our borders, spent trillions of our tax dollars driving the nation closer to bankruptcy, made us energy dependent on our adversaries, used lawfare to eliminate political opponents, fanned the flames of the culture war, worked overtime to divide Americans by race, sex, pushed ESG and DEI, they worked to censor us, and if you disagreed with them or weren’t WOKE enough, you could be bullied and canceled publicly or forced out of your job. They play hardball!
The rabid Democrat/Progressive/Socialist agenda that has impacted nearly every aspect of American life met its match Tuesday. The American people said enough is enough. They rejected what was being pushed down their throats. Most voters made it clear that ‘We The People’ are in charge. We are the bosses. We hire people to “represent” us and fire them when they Lord over us against our will.
The Blame Game
It’s amusing to watch national Democrats try to explain away the national Red Wave. They are blaming everyone but themselves for their loss. Some blame Joe Biden, others blame Taylor Swift for not doing enough, but most blame Americans for being racist and misogynist. As they see it, it’s not THEIR fault; it’s YOUR fault she didn’t win.
No introspection. They refuse even to consider that their policies are wrong and not what a majority of Americans want. They pulled a palace coup and sidelined the sitting President in favor of a highly unpopular Vice President who never received a primary vote for President. She couldn’t distance herself from the failures of their administration. She refused to explain why she reversed herself on the lengthy list of Socialist policies she had long supported. She offered no vision for America. She failed to understand her ‘duck and dodge’ routine couldn’t be hidden by a fawning media heaping her with affection. And lastly, she didn’t calculate that real Americans are loaded with common sense and that a majority of them figured out she’s a lightweight phony politician.
What’s Ahead?
The simple answer is a rocky road – no honeymoon for the President-Elect. When the ‘national-lame-brain-media-propaganda-machine’’ stop reeling from the election results, they will turn their fangs on Donald Trump and Republicans. They will be joined by national Democrats who will shout from every microphone about how Donald Trump’s every decision and utterance will prove he is evil (i.e., like Hitler, as they repeatedly proclaimed).
Tune them out! Ignore them! National media has been canceled with this election. With all their might they worked to elect Kamala and failed. The Democrats, lacking introspection and humility, will stay on the attack to remain relevant for their base.
Watch what President Trump does (not just what he says). Remember, he authored the book on negotiating. His pronouncements are often just working toward the ‘art of the deal.’
Keep a close eye on his decisions, Executive Orders, and proposed legislation. With the support of a Republican majority in Congress, I genuinely believe he will ‘Make America Great Again’ by cleaning up the bad policies of the last four years and putting America on the road to prosperity.
Red Wave Washes Across SC
The SC House of Representatives increased its supermajority at the State House by adding one more seat to its ranks with the defeat of a longtime Low Country Democrat. There will now be 88 GOP Representatives and 36 Democrats. That gives the Republicans a 71% majority. Only Tennessee has a larger Republican House, at 76%.
The shocker came in the State Senate. his Republican opponent veteran Democrat Sen. Gerald Malloy (Hartsville) was defeated by his Republican opponent. Democrat Sen. Mike Fanning (Kershaw-Fairfield Counties) was bested by 29 votes by. The vote count will be final after provisional ballots are counted.
If the Republican candidate prevails in the one close race, the GOP will add four more Senators. That would push the Republican majority to 34, leaving only 12 Democrats in Senate chamber. Those victories will give Republicans a 71% majority – the first GOP supermajority in 150 years in the Senate.
Thank You!
To the voters in House District 86, THANK YOU for the confidence you have shown me by electing me to continue my service on your behalf. I am humbled. Serving you is an honor of a lifetime.
HONORING VETERANS
Today is Veterans Day, a special time dedicated to honoring and celebrating those who served in our armed services. There are an estimated 18 million living veterans today – 6% of the adult population. Aiken County is home to an estimated 18,000 veterans.
Today’s Aiken Celebration Moves Indoors
Due to forecasted inclement weather, today’s Veterans Day Ceremony will not be held at the Aiken County Veterans Memorial Park, as is customary. THE NEW LOCATION is:
South Aiken Presbyterian Church Gymnasium, 1711 Whiskey Road, Aiken, SC 29803 (church is across from Odell Weeks Activity Center)
Saturday’s Veteran Celebration
Aiken’s Talatha Baptist Church excels at honoring veterans. Their Saturday brunch ceremony was awesome! Music, poetry, slide shows, salute to military branches, and individual recognition.
I was honored to provide the keynote address for this heartfelt ceremony.
Honoring Cedar Creek Veterans
This is a “small world” story. I spoke to the veterans of Cedar Creek Friday to celebrate Veterans Day. The keynote speaker was Colonel Tom Tilgham, a retired Air Force fighter pilot, and Cedar Creek resident. He told how he learned to fly the F-100 Super Saber at Luke AFB near Phoenix. When his talk concluded, I asked him what year he was there. It was 1962. My older brother, Dick, was also an F-100 fighter pilot and was stationed on that base at the same time. That summer, I visited Dick, and as a Civil Air Patrol cadet, I had the thrill of sitting in the cockpit of an F-100 on the harmonization range and firing its canons down range. What a rush for a teenager! Thanks, Colonel, for rekindling a long-ago cherished memory.
Aiken’s Children’s Place – Congratulations!
It was a joyous moment when the ribbon was cut to officially open the new Children’s Place Friday. The Aiken-based nonprofit has provided programs for more than 35 years to support and strengthen children and families. The 16,000-square-foot facility cost $7.8 with most of the funds raised through private donations. Executive Director Peggy Ford told reporters that the new building will allow Children’s Place to “serve more children and support and empower more families.”
PHOTO OF THE WEEK
South Carolina requires a photo ID to vote. Look what happens in the states that DON’T require an ID to vote. In SC, our laws make it “Easy to Vote; Hard to Cheat.” These BLUE states make it “Easy to Vote; EASY TO CHEAT.” Just Saying!
